Snow Swirled

I made this card for the Mukwonago Craft Club this friday. I used two techniques that will be new to these girls. One is dry embossing with out a template and the other is stippling.
Stamp Set: Snow Swirled
Cardstock: Brocade Blue (standard 51/2" x 4 1/4" )
White Vellum (51/2" x 41/2" scored @ 41/4")
Ink: White Stazon, Black Stazon, Brocade Blue Classic
Accessories: Scallop Edge Punch, 1/8 in hole punch, Stipple Brush, Stylus, Black sponge mat from tool kit, Glue Dots
Technique: Scallop edge of vellum and punch holes. Stamp snow flakes onto vellum with white Stazon and allow to dry. Turn vellum over and place on black sponge mat. Using the stylus, trace the areas you want to highlight. Go lightly at first and press harder until you receive the desired look. Then on this same side stipple on the Brocade Blue. Stamp the greeting with black Stazon. Adhere to card with glue dots. I put them behing the scored area that folds over the top of the card and one in each of the bottom corners. As an after thought I added some silver elastic cord. It looks pretty either way.

I still don't get how you emboss without a template. You'll have to explain it to me at the calendar class:)
